The Friends of Devonport Park are a voluntary community group which has an elected committee, representative of the area surrounding Devonport Park, who alongside members of other community organisations and the Plymouth City Council (PCC), are working together with the ultimate goal of achieving the restoration of Devonport Park (see restoration project).
Devonport Park is a beautiful victorian park, in use as such from the mid-1800's. It has seen many changes over the years, both in its general appearance and uses. Over the years, the park has seen a general decline in its maintenance and use and this was the main reason for the creation of the Friends of Devonport Park (FDP) community group in September 2005.

Due to the hard work and committment of the committee members and their associates, large sums of grant money from the National Lottery, the Devonport Regeneration Community Partnership (DRCP) and Awards For All have already been obtained (see funding) and the restoration of the park to its former glory has already begun (see restoration project).
Please feel free to browse our website at your leisure. If you wish to contact any of the committee members you can do so via the contacts page and if you would like to make a donation, become a sponsor or a helper at one of our events, instructions on how to do so can be found on the sponsors page.
Thanks to our website, the FDP are making many new "friends" from all across the
globe. Melissa Thompson from Ontario in Canada, works for a real estate company
and found our site while surfing the net. She was impressed enough to ask if she
could add a link to our site from their own as she felt it would be of interest to
her clients. The following comments were received from her recently by email. “
Thanks for letting me add your site to my directory. Your site will be a great addition
to the website and of great value to my users. Today I actually received an email
from one of my users about your site, it was very positive which reinforces my initial
thoughts about adding you”
