Public Consultation
After a public consultation during our recent annual event in Devonport Park, the results was that the majority of members of the public voted to have the new bandstand design in a traditional way, as depicted below. So far, the FDP have raised enough funds to create the new bandstand base only and unfortunately, until we are able to raise enough funds, the new bandstand will be a dream only. On the right you will see a variety of methods for donation to the FDP. The top link is to donate only £1 to the FDP! There are also links to donate other amounts, both to the FDP and to our Bandstand Fund. You'll also find a link for instructions on how to donate via Cheque, PO or Cash. Please find time to donate at least £1 to us ... We are an entirely voluntary organisation, entirely dependent upon the generously of the public and other charitable organisations. If everyone who visited this site donated just £1 to us, we'd already have more then enough to build your new Bandstand. At present, we don;t even have enough money to publish our next newsletter!
Below are pdfs of the design process that the team have gone through.
Progress so far...
After our success (Thanks to everyone who voted!) at winning a bid from the DRCP (Devonport Regeneration Community Partnership) of £50,000, we now have enough funds to have the base of the bandstand built. Building works should start around October 2010 and it should be finished in time for our Christmas Carol Service. All utilities will be incorporated into the base, such as electricity and water supplies and it will have disabled access also. We are still raising funds to complete the bandstand, for which we need a further £150,000! Therefore, if you can some pennies or re-sellable goods (see the “Help Us” page for more details), please please please, donate to our Bandstand Appeal!
