 How it all started
27/04/08 :

After 12 months of consultation and devleopment, Plymouth City Council has now received full planning permission for the relocation and redesign of the playpark. The DRCP has also agreed to contribute £308,000 towards this project, which has receieved full approval and support from many of the local residents, groups and Housing Associations as well as the Police and the Garden History Society. The Garden History Society will feature the design in their national magazine on best practice for incorporating play facilities in to a historic landscape. For more information regarding the design and location of the playpark, click on the Plymouth City Council link at the bottom of this page.
June 2009
Opened on the 13th September 2009!
Our new Play Park was officially opened to the public during our annual event on the 13th September 2009. It was a great success, being full of playing children (and quite a few adults!) during our event and seems to have been well used by local children ever since. The Tyre Swing and Zip Wire in particular seem to have been a hit and we hope that local (or non-local) children will continue to enjoy it for a long time to come. A note of caution though: the zip wire is a potentially hazardous piece of equipment and we caution those using it to do so sensibly please!

For those who are concerned: the toddler swings which have been removed from the old play park will soon be with us again! They have simply been removed to undergo renovation before being put pride and place into the new toddler area of the new play park and will be with us again in a couple of months.
