Restoring the People’s Park

Are you looking for a challenge?

If so, why not volunteer to help us restore the Devonport Park as the People’s Park? We are looking for enthusiastic local people to help us to restore some of the smaller garden areas in Devonport Park such as the Rose Garden. Before becoming a volunteer however, you must become an FDP member so please complete the membership form first.

How can you help?

We are looking for people to assist us in restoring and maintaining Devonport Park for a one off event or as part of a regular work team. Tasks will range from manual work such as clearing overgrown shrubs, litter picking, new planting and pruning to helping us to organise and deliver activities in the park such as guided walks. Initial work will include planting wildflower meadows.

What will you get out of volunteering with us?

• Meet new local people as friends
• Learn new skills
• Have the opportunity to receive formal training
• Share your experience with others
• Help restore the People’s Park
• Enjoy exercise and social events
• Do your bit for improving the environment
• Experience the great outdoors on your doorstep

What you will need

You will need basic outdoor clothing such as boots and waterproofs or overalls.
